Eagle Scout Award
Celebrate the accomplishment of a lifetime - the achievement of Eagle Scout. Patches, badges, cords, photographs, scarves and pins can all be incorporated in a custom framed shadow box that will preserve the experience.
African Safari
The memories of a photographic safari to Africa can be re-lived indefinitely through this dramatic shadow box. Photos, beaded art, and mementos are all displayed with the name AFRICA embossed into the suede fabric background.
Cigar Band Collection
A boy's childhood collection of cigar bands is elegantly displayed in a very custom designed frame. The fabric matting is cut into the shape of a large cigar band to complement the collection. The school book that contained the bands for many years is prominently displayed in the frame.
Texans Inaugural Season Tickets
Two commemorative inaugural season tickets for the new Houston Texans football team were framed using the team colors along with a photo of the spectacular Reliant Stadium. We designed the custom Texans Logo cut into the red, white and blue mats.
Dream Team Jersey
This "Olympics Dream Team I" jersey is hand-stitched over a
white linen background and framed with 2 brightly colored glossy frames.
The conservation glass is spaced away from the fabric.
WWI Lloyd’s of London Insurance Policy
The policy covered British ship, which was torpedoed during the war.
We designed a double-sided frame of rich lacquered burl, and an acrylic
table stand. The document was encapsulated in a Mylar sleeve so while it
is enjoyed it will also be preserved.
Five Generations Shadow Box
Personal items from five women in one family dating back to 1844 were
lovingly given to the youngest family member. Bits of lace, a locket, a
charm bracelet, some crochet, photographs and a handkerchief were all
carefully stitched onto blue silk and surrounded by a gold leaf shadow
box moulding.
Houston Rodeo Badges
These badges are awarded to the thousands of committee volunteers
whose purpose is to raise money for college scholarships. We embossed
the shape of the "boot" Rodeo logo into maroon ultra suede.
1904 Black Wedding Dress
This remarkably well-preserved garment was hand-stitched onto a silk
background along with an original photo of the bride and groom and a
reduced color copy of their marriage license. The dress, which was
actually a 2-piece suit, was very heavy fabric. The completed frame was
40" x 60".
Civil War Bullets
Four authentic civil war bullets were mounted over navy ultra suede.
We re-typed the information cards onto a parchment paper and singed the
edges. The frame, decorated with X’s, closely resembles the crossed
leather bandoleers worn by the soldiers.
Fiesta® Kitchen Kraftware
We reproduced the signature pattern on the handles of the utensils
and embossed the design into the fabric background. The items were
embellished by an ornate silver shadow box moulding.
1850 Texas Map
The map, produced not long after Texas became a state, was framed
with a clean cream linen mat and gold leaf fillet. We chose a Hicks
mahogany frame and added 4 "Texas Stars" gold leafed to match
the frame lip. UV filtering conservation glass will preserve the map for
future generations.
Antique Chinese Suit
The suit, shoes, hat and fan were brought from China to the US after
the Boxer Rebellion in 1913. An emperor or other wealthy powerful person
would have worn this type clothing. We chose a hand-carved white gold
over blue clay frame with a "fish" design in the corners. The fabric was
carefully stitched onto a pongee silk.
Mother’s Wedding Shoes
A pair of sisters and a pair of their Mother’s wedding shoes make
two beautiful keepsake shadow boxes. Photographs of the bride and groom
and pieces of the wedding veil complete these elegant frames.
The Hindenburg
Historical pieces of the girders and skin of the dirigible are
mounted onto acrylic sheets and floated over copies of authentic
newspaper stories. The frame is made of a wood frame covered with model
airplane covering material, closely resembling the actual skin of the
ship. Some photos, a stamp cover and a model of The Hindenburg complete
the presentation.
Closing the Rainbow Room
A favorite dining and dancing location in New York since 1934, The
Rainbow Room closed in 1998. A menu, a plate and a treasured photograph
were framed in a festive shadow box decorated with ribbons and confetti,
and completed with a silver leaf art deco frame.
Baseball Collection
Don’t know what to do with your "Babe Ruth" or
"Mickey Mantle" autographed baseballs? This design allows them
to be displayed safely with no adhesives or other harmful materials.
They are easily removed. Each one has its own brass plate and spaces
were left for any additions to the collection.
Wedding Crowns
Our special, creative design called for no adhesives to hold the
crowns to a "floating" piece of glass. They are suspended over
a seafoam green moiré and a rope pattern silver leaf frame.
