Fiesta Kitchen Kraft Spoons
Bradley’s recently had
the opportunity to frame this complete collection of Kitchen Kraft
Spoons, forks and cake servers from the mint vintage Fiesta collection
of Carol and Ron Robinson.
The Homer Laughlin Company introduced Fiesta in January 1936 in five
colors – red, cobalt blue, light green, yellow and ivory followed by
turquoise in mid 1937. In 1939, they introduced a bake-and-serve Fiesta
line called Kitchen Kraft in the four colors shown in the photo. The
Fiesta line was discontinued in 1973 reintroduced in new colors in 1986
and continues to be a popular pottery sold today.
The vintage Fiesta has become highly collectable, particularly in
mint condition. The covered onion soup bowl, which originally sold for
75 cents, was discontinued about the time the turquoise color was
introduced. A chipped, very rare, turquoise covered onion soup bowl sold
at an Indiana auction in 1999 for $10,000. Other vintage Fiesta pieces
have sold from a few dollars to several thousand dollars, depending on
the rarity of the piece and its quality.
Lucy designed a shadow box using an ornate silver moulding and a
neutral taupe fabric background embossed with a signature element of the
Fiesta pattern
