Custom Framing
of art and objects is our primary service. Our customers bring personal
items [photographs, diplomas, needlework, prints, original art,
newspaper clippings, certificates, etc.] to Bradley’s for framing. We
will build a frame, cut mats, attach the object, glaze it and fit ready
to hang.
Design/Layout is provided by 4 experienced Certified Picture
Framers. We first ask if you, the customer, have a design and/or colors in
mind. If yes, we always try to work with your ideas. If not, we might ask
a series of questions about location, size, environment, and color. When
multiple objects are being framed, we may want to consider several designs
and ask that you come back to approve your choice. Sometimes, we may make
special samples for your project.
Matting choices include acid-free paper mats and fabrics including
suede, silk, linen, moiré and velvet. Liners (fabrics on a wood moulding)
may be chosen in many sizes and shapes. We might suggest fabric mats be
used on top of glass or covered to protect the surface.
Glazing options include: regular glass, non-glare glass,
conservation (filters ultra violet) clear glass, non-glare conservation
glass, clear non-reflecting glass with and without UV filter, Museum Glass
(clear optically coated with UV filtering), Water-white glass (low lead
content/no green edges), clear acrylic, non-glare acrylic, UV filtering
acrylic in both clear and non-glare, and abrasion resistant acrylic in both
clear and non-glare. Optima acrylic is clear reflection free with a UV
filter.
Your final choice will depend upon the art, location,
design and budget.
Conservation/Preservation
is our primary responsibility. We expect our work to be so well
designed and constructed that it will last indefinitely. We choose our
materials with that in mind. Properly chosen hangers are included with
every completed frame. Bradley’s Art & Frame unconditionally
guarantees our quality and your satisfaction.
Needlework/Textiles is
an area of special expertise. A textile conservator handles antique
and/or damaged pieces. We specialize in proper mounting techniques for
needlepoint, embroidery, textile art, clothing and other fabric-based
items.
Restoration
of oil paintings, pastels, watercolors and other paper-borne art is
available. Some original photographs can be restored, many require
professional digital restoration. In most cases, damaged or old frames
can be repaired and re-finished. Quotes are always given before a job is
begun.
Photo Frames,
such as the classic Italian designs by Roma Moulding are featured at
Bradley’s. We also carry a large selection from Epoch Arts which features
the beautifully polished wood backs and patented easel. Many styles are

century ovals, octagons and boilermakers along with convex glass are offered
for sale. Bradley’s also maintains an inventory of gold, silver, walnut,
mahogany and black circles and ovals from 4” up to over 16 x 20’s.
