Who we are

Bill Bradley, CPF

Bill Bradley, CPFBill, a native Houstonian, is a graduate of San Jacinto High School. He’s been a private pilot since he was a teenager. In his spare time, Bill designs, builds, and flies electric model airplanes.

He developed the technique of embossing designs in fabric mats and backgrounds in the early 1980s. Today he continues to work on innovative designs with the use of CADD software on the computer.

Bill restores and repairs frames, including replacing broken ornaments on ornate frames. He also restores some art and photographs.

Bill and Aaron deliver and install art for our clients.

Bill along with wife, Pat, is the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award, the highest award given by the Professional Picture Framers Association. Sometimes known as the “engineering department,” Bill is our problem solver.

Pat Bradley, CPF

Pat BradleyPat was born in Chicago and graduated from Ray High School in Corpus Christi and attended the University of Houston. Her hobbies include the Astros, needlepoint, and reading. Besides Casey and Lily, Pat & Bill share their home with another dog and two more cats.

She is responsible for administration and marketing at Bradley’s and has been writing the company newsletter since the mid-1970s. She is frequently at the front counter with clients, sharing over 40 years of experience.

Pat researched and developed many of the techniques used on framing textiles — needlework and clothing. She taught many workshops to other framers, sharing these techniques.

Pat served on the original Certification Committee that wrote the original CPF (Certified Picture Framer) test. She says it was “the best committee ever.”

“We wrote 300 questions and all 10 committee members had to agree 100% on the correct answers. That’s not easy!”

Pat and Bill received the Lifetime Achievement Award from PPFA in Anaheim, CA, in February 2010.

Stephen Gase, MCPF

Stephen Gase, MCPFSteve has been with Bradley’s since 1994. He is a graduate of Northbrook High School. Steve and wife, Paris, now live in southwest Houston with two Chihuahuas, two cats, and a fig tree named “Twigero.”

He expertly and happily executes the designs dreamed up by the sales/design staff. His responsibilities include cutting mats, mounting art, and working with fabrics and objects in shadow boxes. Steve makes those photos and objects “float” in your frame. You’ll love what he does. He’s a “wizard” using our computerized mat cutter “The Wizard.”

Steve has attained the highest certification awarded by the Professional Picture Framers Association — Master Certified Picture Framer.

Amy Holloway, CPF Sales/Design

Amy Holloway, CPFAmy has worked in the picture framing industry since 1996, and joined Bradley’s in 2008. Amy is a Houston native and a graduate from the University of Texas with a degree in Biology. Her lovable dog, Suzy (a heeler/lab mix), has occasionally come to work with Amy.

Amy is passionate about creative framing design, art conservation, and first-class customer service. She will be happy to tackle your design problems and pick out the “perfect” frame for your art or object. Amy recently passed her Picture Framer Certification test.

Lucy Quay, MCPF Sales Manager

Lucy QuayLucy, a Texas native and Spring Woods High School and HCC Business graduate, has been with Bradley’s Art & Frame since 1993 and has been framing for a total of 24 years. She and husband, Gary, live in Conroe with two dogs and five cats.

Needless to say, Lucy is one of those blessed people who has found what she wants to do “when she grows up.” She excels at creating one-of-a kind designs, viewing them as “inventions.” Thinking outside the box comes naturally for her, and she has fun stacking mouldings, “tweaking” frame finishes, and simply doing things differently.

She believes that each and every piece you bring in deserves equal respect. If you bring it in, it’s important to you and to us. She will select and recommend the perfect design for your special keepsakes and favorite pieces of art.

Lucy believes strongly that customer service is her first priority, and she looks for new ways to enhance your experience at Bradley’s. Lucy considers continuing education vital and has achieved the highest certification in the Professional Picture Framers Association — Master Certified Picture Framer.

Jennifer Robey, MCPF Production Manager

Jennifer Robey, MCPFJennifer, who was born in Texas, began framing in 1992 and came to Bradley’s in 2007, adding her talent to Bradley’s history of winning framing competitions. Jennifer has been a First Place Winner in two local framing competitions and received an Honorable Mention in a national PPFA contest.

She excels at every aspect of framing and is inspired by working with the frames and moulding finishes. At a recent West Coast Art & Frame Show, Jen attended 10 classes on gold leafing and frame finishes. We can’t wait for you to see what she can do. She has creatively finished and re-finished a variety of custom frames, achieving one-of-a-kind results. Jennifer is also responsible for Bradley’s production schedule and staff. Jen has achieved the highest certification from the Professional Picture Framers Association — Master Certified Picture Framer.

Rachel Townsend

Rachel TownsendRachel came to Bradley’s in 2006 while still a student at Memorial High School. She wanted to help with the costs of an upcoming People-to-People trip to Europe. Rachel is attending Manhattanville College in White Plains, NY. She specializes in International Studies.

Rachel has spent most of her time at Bradley’s organizing and replacing frame corner samples as some are deleted and vendors send us boxes of new products. During the summer of 2010, she quickly learned to do Bradley’s purchasing. Rachel now works with us at Christmastime and during the summers, when she is not traveling the world. Rachel excels at every project she is given.

Lisa Yee

Lisa YeeLisa began working at Bradley’s in 1985, and just recently celebrated her 25th anniversary. She was born in Fiji and raised in Hong Kong. A few years ago Lisa became a proud, naturalized citizen of the USA.

She expertly completes the final assembly of your art work with glass, backing, frame, dust cover, bumpers, hangers, etc., whatever is necessary to send you out the door with a well-constructed, clean, and safe-to-hang picture frame.

Casey Bradley, MCSG (Master Certified Shop Greeter)

Casey Bradley, MCSG (Master Certified Shop Greeter)This big, white, fluffy, lovable dog is 11 years old, and we think, a Soft Coated Wheaton Terrier mix. Casey was found running through the alley behind Pat & Bill’s house when he was around 4 months old. We assume he’s a native Texan.

He takes his job as “Frame Shop Greeter” very seriously. Casey loves children, is very gentle, and might greet you with a happy bark. The pose in the photo is a cross between “shake” and “please give me a treat.” We hope you enjoy Casey as much as we do.

Lily Bradley

Lily BradleyLily, the cat, has been a “shop cat” at Bradley’s since the fall of 2002. She was found abandoned with five kittens; all were safely rescued. Lily sometimes occupies her front-counter basket, but when she chooses to come to work, she is fond of her bed on Pat’s desk under a warm lamp.

One Response to Who we are

  1. Jenny Palmer says:

I was driving by on my way to shop somewhere else, when I happened upon your store, and Lucy. I had never heard of your business, but pulled in to see about a mat. I left with so much more! Lucy was warm, welcoming, and generous in spirit. I work in a clinic, and my husband is a school teacher, so our budgets are always tight, but as I strolled about your store, I daydreamed about all the things I could save up my money for to have shadowboxed… that is good business, one that makes you feel inspired. Lucy probably knew I didn’t have much money, but she treated me so kindly and warmly. I prayed last night that God would bless your business! I told Lucy that I would….:)
